I've transplanted the engine out of a 84 T-Type into my El Camino(actually I had a local shop do it). The engine works but I don't believe the way it should. I have a turbo that is burning through oil. Now I have another guy thats say I should take the turbo off the intake and move it up front. I am so confused. I need to find someone that knows this engine inside and out. Is there anyone out there that can help me? Here's the other catch, I'm in Saskatoon,Saskatchewan. Canada. Yeh I know that's a mouthful but there really is such a place , I just can't find anyone with knowledge of this engine.

There are a handful of guys in B.C. that know these cars. I'm 2 hours south of Vancouver. Still along drive, to say the least. Read up on this message board and you will learn TONS. The turbo can very easily be replaced. Yes, converting to a 86-87 style turbo system would be MUCh better, but you can make pretty good power with the "hot air" engine, as they are known. There are good turbo upgrades available for the 84-85 engines. Contact Precision Turbo or Limit Engineering for options. Installing an Alcohol injection system will also do your car wonders. Read up on the "hot air cars" and you will know more than the guys working on your car, do.
