where do i put the EGT sensor

I have a big block buick with twin turbo's in a 74 camaro. I have a EGT sensor and gauge that a buddy gave me with no directions. Is it better to put the sensor on the header or on the down pipe? What are the safe temperature limits on a turbo application?

Put it on the header before the turbo if possible. On the 3.8's most mount it just opposite of the o2 sensor.

Hell yeah! it's the skymaro guy. I've been watching the video's you posted on youtube. Good stuff I enjoy. I like the hot black skylark too.

I don't know if all egt controllers do but the ones I have seen go from cold to 2000-2200* or they are digital.
