I changed the transmission oil filter on my GN and refilled the trans with 4 quarts of oil and checked the oil level with the engine idling in Park. The dip stick showed the oil was at the correct level. I then did the same thing to my other car and the dip stick did not show any oil at all. Is there a variation of GN transmissions with different oil capacities? Just don't want to take the chance of overfilling the trans.

If there are no leaks evident I bet the other car was low before teh change
If it's not showing any reading on stick I wouldn't worry about overfilling. You should shuttle the Trans through the gears, Drive & Reverse while idling to remove any air pockets also. Other car may have just lost more fluid while pan was off or was low as stated above.
