Dodge brings back the Hemi, Pontiac revives the GTO, Mercury produces the Merauder.....the more you hear and watch lately, the more obvious it becomes that the performance car market is starting to breathe again. My question: WHERE THE HELL IS BUICK? Do they figure it would be hard to sell a muscle car with Tiger Woods behind the wheel, or what? From the GS/GSX to the GN/GNX, I had long believed that it was only a matter of time before Buick came around and showed everybody how it was done (again). I was only 10 years old when my GN was built, but I would love to be of driving age when they stomped everybody's a$$ again! I mean, if you had told me 8 or 9 years ago that Subaru would build a 13 (ish) second car before Buick got back in the game.....well, I would have either laughed or cried. We need to start sending alot of letters.......

I followed a Buick half way to work this morning...

...A Rendevous...

( big fat  )

Just another typical GM "plastic stick-on" vehicle...plastic stick-on bumper trim, plastic stick-on fender flares, plastic stick-on body side panels...just like half the GM trucks & all the Pontiac Grand-Am's, Bonneville's & Grand Prix's (feel free to add what I've missed)...

I mean really, WHEN the hell is GM going start shaping trucks & car bodies out of STEEL?? Until they figure THAT out, I ain't holding my breath waiting for another fast BUICK!!

If we ever run out of oil to make gas, I'M gonna blame GM for wasting it all on PLASTIC CRAP!!

LOL!! No kidding. Although, if we ran out of fossil fuels would it really be that big of a deal seeing as how there'll be nothing worth driving?;)

BTW, if you had looked through the window of that Rendezvous I have a feeling you would have included 'plastic stick-on drivers', I mean- who likes this junk?:D

Times have changed--buick and performance will no longer be in the same sentence!!!:(

HEMI---OVERRATED--yes i said it

GTO--somethings are better off left alone--GOT CAVALIER????

Marauder---oh where to start---why make a sheep in wolf's clothing

Although-Caddy may on to something with the CTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've tried twice so far on this board to get the so called experts to put together a new Buick GN on paper using the Parts from the past and present. No one took it serious, and I've also e-mailed Buick about 3 times telling them about this site and the other and how they could use some of you guys if they decided to build a new GN. I told them how the GN is still killing at the tracks, and that there are still vendors out there producing new products for the car every year. I think if this board layed out a plan for a new GN, part by part and sent it to Buick they may see something they like and actually do something.

Prediction, Buick will be the next casualty of GM downsizing ala Oldsmobile.

Don't do us any favors of telling them about this or other message boards/sites as they will probably want the word Buick and their precious 6 logo removed from everything!

You're right about that, I've been told several times about people wanting to sell even '6' stickers and they have to get it past GM first. (Which can be difficult.) My responses to Buick/GM over this:

"Heck, you just about forget that they exist untill someone want to borrow something."

and

"If you're SO f***ing touchy about anybody else making parts for these cars, then PLEASE, make some your f***ing selves!"

Pipe dream...

It's all a bunch of marketing CRAP!
That Hemi is a pooch and doesn't derve the name.
The car companies are sticking the performance names of old onto these new pooch mobiles in hopes of selling more and it's working.

ks:(

If Dodge wanted to something serious they should offer the Neon with a Hemi option....and of course a turbo option with that:eek:

I think they could take something like the Caddy CTS platform for the new GN and make that work. BUT, I hear that Caddy is gonna make the CTS pretty dang fast either in '04, or '05.

Face it boys......BUICK is dead!!:(
