Hi, every site i see that sells a torque strap only sells them for 86-87. Can someone please tell me where to get one and for how much?
thanks

yeah i would like to know also my motor is gonna flip over when i put in my stall

I believe that these straps are universal. In fact, you should be able to fab one of your own. Look in a hardware store for a metal turnbuckle, a couple hooks and whatnot and find a couple places to attach it and you're done. I have an '84 and connected mine between the power steering pump and a suitable spot on the frame. I bought it from a Buick vendor many moons ago.

I think HRPartsNStuff sells special motor mounts for '78 - '87 G-bodies that'll accomplish the same thing. Using one of their mounts on the driver's side might be all that's needed to keep the engine from twisting.

Good luck.

The poly drivers side motor mount from HRPartsNStuff is the way to go. The torque straps usually put stress on components that were never intended to take the abuse.

thanks for the replies guys. I think ill go with the HrpartsNstuff poly motor mount. Are they pretty easy to install or what?

Actually i just looked up the motor mount but didnt know they costed $100:eek: I think i will be making my own torque strap now.

I agree with the previous poster. Torque strap will eventually break things. My dad broke an alternator bracket on his 86. Poly motor mount is the only way to go.
