where can i buy a cheap but good stock style 87 MAF sensor. I have posted for one in the parts wanted section but no luck.
I am converting the computer on my 85 over to the 87 and need a MAF also.

You're looking for a needle in a hay stack.

Of course, they are long since discountinued from GM.

NOS ones are very rare and thus pricey (can you say price gouging).

Used ones are somewhat rare and usually run about $100. Of course, they suffer the same failures as any other OEM TR MAF (they are OEM TR MAFs), and there are no guarantees.

The quality of other GM or aftermarket MAFs of the same "style", new or rebuilt, is spotty at best.

For the above reasons, many folks have gravitated towards an LT1 or LS1 MAF and Translator.
