Changing valve springs soon and want to put in comp 980's. Went to the Summit web site and it seems there are two different types. CCA-980-12's and CCA-980-16's. Now I know one set comes w/ 12 springs and the other 16 but there are other differences listed in the description of each. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

CCA-980-12's - 1.230 in. O.D., .876 in. I.D., 308 lb. spring rate, single, valve spring set

CCA-980-16's - Single spring, 1.230 in. outer diameter with damper. .888 in. inside diameter, 322 spring rate, valve springs

Sorry cant help ya but I got mine from Dennis Kirban Kirban performance a couple years ago and got the tool to change with the deal he had. Hope this helps a little. He only carrys the right ones

I thought the -12's were a set of 12 and the -16's were a set of 16 for a V-8. Wasn't aware there was a difference in the springs themselves.

A comp. cam 980 is a comp cam 980.

12 or 16 would be the quantity.

Someone prolly typed in the wrong info. regarding them.

The 12's will be enough to do the car. :)

Kirbans are Chevy springs with 100lb. force avg., about 18% too high for the stock cam spec.

Comp. cams. are 1-2% high on avg. with 84lb. avg.

Just my observations from testing them.
