I am looking at 2 convertors for my car. I want a 3400 to 3500 stall l/u. I have it down to a Yank and a 9/11. Which ones do you big tranny guys think is the best.

boost86 Have you looked into Neal Chance convertors ? heard they are a nice unit. on my personal pwr. slave list. i think they are a little pricey though. just another opt. to consider. good luck.

steer clear of the 9/11 imo.the quality of them has been very poor recently.if youd like the split design of the 9/11 ,our version the 10/12 would be a good choice as well as our ten inch billet cover units .both are lock ups,1 year warrantee, made by us,and will definately increase the performance of your existing combo.

Keep this in mind Chris.....

YOU have maybe had bad luck with them , but NOT everybody has. There is a post in this thread saying just that.

I posted our experiances and why. We have had no less quality as of late, then ever.

I can understand your "bad taste" but please do not go denouncing a product that we have had great success with.
I think that is going beyond the line. If you wish to convey to your customers personally, go right ahead, but please don't do it in a forum at my expense. (Because, that is what, in my opinion, you did)

I have no problem with you explaining your product and it's qualities, but please do not denounce a product that has worked so well for so many.

If anybody wants any info and stats on this converter, please do not hesitate to email or call. Would be glad to answer anyone.

No offense, but a company that has been in the OEM and Performance converter business for over three generations and over 31 years has GOT to be doing something right and have some kinda clue, if not the total insight, as to what and how a converter works and performs. www.TCSPerformance.com
I would watch who I bad mouthed.
Just some friendly advice..... No ill intent incinuated.

Bruce,a long time ago you stated that what you get from tcs is different from others.maybe this has proven to be true.if so it means tcs is engaging in unfair business practices.why should we pay the same thing for something of lesser quality.rusty told me that you were out of your mind and he could sell to whomever he pleases.seems like he has mastered the practice of telling people what he thinks they want to hear.this is true,on my life .Iam just fed up with shoveling horse manure for him.he doesnt like to help when there is a problem,he lies about ship dates,he sold us over a dozen converters with improper build height etc.bad mouthed me to customers i had call him for a restall.dishonesty is dishonesty whether its been in business for 31 years or a week the same way gold is gold even its been sitting in a mine for eternity.im here to be a mouthpiece for what has proven to me to be unfair business practices.this was not a 1 time incident,it was repetitive and without regard for our time and money wasted as well as others.maybe this will be a wake up call for him.if you re read youll see i never said the product was failing on us ,only that rusty was not assembling them properly because he was in a rush to get them out.THIS WAS BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL ORDERS WERE REPEATEDLY NOT PUT THRU DUE TO HIS LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM THEREFORE HE RUSHED TO GET THEM OUT.HE HAS LIED TO US ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND HAS PROVEN IN MY BOOK TO BE A LOSER.thats it ,theres no reason to take it personally.if you had the same service youd feel the same way.your company publicly is against the stage right isnt it?and that ok,its exactly my point.others sell the stage right so you should be careful who you badmouth also.get the point?i have enjoyed being a part of this board and you know aas well as i know that honesty pays off in the long run.i hope you dont take offense to this just telling my version of the events.it is for these reasons we have introduced our version of this unique producy without the runout and incorrect build heights associated with what tcs thought was fit to sell to someone who spent a tremendous amount of money with them.Keepin it real.

Chris,
I understand your frustration..

I bought a custom built converter late last year for my Th400 from a "reputable" company. All the upfront service in the world.

They missed the stall by 1000 rpm. I gave them all the specs on the combo...

They flat out missed it. I called a couple of weeks ago to get it fixed. Since it has been 5-6 months I didn't really expect a free re-stall on my $400 converter... even though they goofed.

They wanted full price for a re-stall.
The car would 60' harder with a STOCK converter...
It also ET'd and MPH better with a $99 Summit 2200 stall.

$175 to re-stall what they sent out wrong...

So I told them I would replace it with another companies product, and cost them 20 times what the converter cost me in lost sales.

I called PTC and they offered to fix the converter for $100. Almost half what the original company wanted to fix their own mistake...

Anybody wanna know who NOT to buy a converter from... email me.

converters

Chris i understand the fustration too my man. I have been thru some hell over a 9/11 converter.

mine had a runout of .030 out from the front cover to drive tangs on the hub not to mention the two halves were .015 out as well.

It cost me 250 bucks with a local guy too have it all corrected and i love the converter it's great the the workmanship is junk.

Rusty gave me the run around too along with some bull**** reason for the converter to have runout issues

I bought a 9/11 from Bruce, with a tranny attached, about 3 years ago. It's taken 550 WHP N/A plus 150+ shot of nitrous in all that time without a whimper plus runs Power Tour in lock up like a champ. Both pieces have been bullet proof.

It's been a great piece for me, as has the tranny. I'm sure Bruce forgot who I am as I never talk to him, which is the way it should be. :D

Rick, Bruce remembers well getting you put together. Great to hear something positive about both products. In this industry it's always easy to blame everything on someone else and they often do. It is always great to hear someone relate their positive thoughts as well. Thanks, and this is one of very many positive responses we get from our customers on our products.
