I lost the trans in my blowthru project this Last Saturday. It is using a EA stage II 200-4r, while I was hoping for it to be bullet proof for a while it's not. It's not out of the car yet but I suspect the forward drum or input shaft have failed as I have 6 neutrals and park right now. Since I now perhaps already have damaged billet parts, Where/what are the parts I want to use now in the trans this time? I don't want this to happen again any time soon(least not what's left of this year)

This trans was a beast before the break and I even got it used and never had a single issue with it until now.

I have never locked the TC one time in this car( I have tried too but that function never happened). I also forgot the trans broke on the street with street tires going for 2nd gear.

I would say tear it down and see what happened. My 87 had a trans from Lonnie when I got it (already 5 years old). It only failed because the lockup solenoid failed on a roadtrip and burned the converter. When I tore into it, it was exactly as Lonnie said it was for the previous owner. Billet fwd drum and everything else that was spec'd out for the car. Mine only has the billet fwd drum and now a CK servo. 11.4@117 pushing 3560# so far and not a hint of trouble in the 4 years since I went thru it and it still has all the same hard parts Lonnie had in it. When I went thru it, there was no sign of twisting of any splines or thrust wear. Things happen and it may have been a "tired" GM input shaft or planet. Lonnie does great work. :)

Thanks for the reply Eric, That's what I'll do when I get a chance to work on the car again. I don't know Lonnie personally but have only heard great things and have been amazed by the performance of the trans he built that I'm using. Hopefully it's not something too awful bad this trans was built Dec '10

i ordered a whole roller and billet part pakage at an awesome price from ck performance, call him he will guide you in the right direction. i broke a new tranny just breaking in and shifting to 3rd. sounded like a bomb

I don't know Lonnie personally either. Only emailed with him a few times LOOOOOONG ago when WebTV was around. ;) He is a hell of a builder and if I didn't do this for a living, he would be one of the few who would get my work. :)

I would give Lonnie a call, It may be alot cheaper than you think to upgrade what you have. Lonnie knows what is in it already...Great guy to deal with.

Lonnie's Trans have a 1yr. warranty. I'd check with Him to see what He can/will do before you tear it down.

His Stage II's have a treated Input Shaft & Billet Forward Drum >> Extreme Automatics Where winning is easy

First solution = Pick up the phone and call. If Transmission is still under the 1 year warranty your repair will be free. If its over a year regardless of your issue its flat $350. If you are not the original purchaser the 1 year warranty still applies. (You will need to know the original purchaser.) All starts with a phone call. I PMed private number to you to make it easy. I Cant fix-em over the internet.

Thanks for checking and posting Lonnie, I'll be giving you a call about it this evening.
