which nitrous nozzle 4 SRT4 w/ W/I ?

My W/I kit came from a buick GN. It used an old ford fuel pump and a nitrous style fogger nozzle on my friends GN. He ran it at 60psi. I have a 80-100psi surflo pump on it now, and I only have a 2.4L..

What size flare jet would you guys recommend ? The one I'm running now is the same one he used on the GN, but its slowing the car down quite a bit and causing a bit of "missing" at low RPM high boost ( I get 18psi really fast ), and the motor just can't pull enough CFM.

The current nozzle only has a "#13" stamped on it, which means nothing to me, so I need another smaller nozzle, I just don't know where to even start.
.018,.020,0.23 or what ?

Any help would be great.
 
Ole yea, my boost spikes hard ( 18-19psi max ) and falls to about 13.5psi, so I have it set to come on at about 13psi ( which I can get at about 1900rpms ).
 
You could measure the hole size by finding a drill bit that fits correctly. Then, you could have the original hole plugged with lead or epoxy or something (as long as it does not react with water or water/alcohol), and start with a 50% smaller drill size and keep enlarging it until you are happy. Quick and pretty easy.

That's a pretty good idea, but I'm not sure if .050 sized drill bits even exsist..
Let alone a .030 sized one...

I guess I'm just going to take the "pill" by a local speed shop and try to find one thats smaller... Or maybe they have a better way of measuring it...
 
I'm not sure what size your nozzle is.....or how to guage it.....but I doubt it is too big. I dunno though....maybe you could flow test it? Most GN's run a single m-15. You may be overfueling if using meth....or quenching combustion if using just water.......causing your engine to stall from either over rich condition or unburnable mixture. I think you need to tune more. I found the limits for my stock 4cyl. 4G63 2.0 liter. I ran 2 nozzles, a M-15 and a M-10 with my shu flo pump capped (175-200 psi ) 2.5 psi turn on, gain @ 5pm. and 35 psi. boost on my 2.0 Talon . That's a lot of straight meth. ! Made 575 Wheel Hp.....unfortunately it also bends rods. We run single M-15's on all our cars now. That is the perfect combo. Bullet proof and makes good power. 1 single M-10 is good for about 400 hp on meth. That is where I would start you.

So this "M-10" is a nitrous style flare jet ?

And thanx for the info, I only plan to make a MAXIMUM of about 320-330whp and 350-370ft. LBS.

I'm also running straight water since my car is tuned to run a 10.6 AFR with the mopar S2 controlling things, I have a map clamp to lean it out a little, but I still have to get the W/I working a little better before spend the money of getting it dyno tuned ( should make around 280whp and 300 or so torque ).

Made 244whp and 277 torque with the 10.6 AFR with ONLY the mopar Stage2
 
Nope. M-10 is a mist nozzle. Check out alkycontrol.com. I believe 5-10 dollars will buy one.
So how do you know the straight water is working? Water displaces fuel. Fuel makes power. I bet you could make close to 400 whp safely with what you got and a few tweaks running meth. You'd really be supised. Try dumping in -30'f washer fluid.... instead of straight water...... lean it out about 3-5% and see how your car responds.....do you have a way to modify fuel, check timing, monitor O2's? If not invest in the tools to do so. I highly recommend slicks or DR's too. Pretty soon you'll lite tires thru 3rd. especially with no LSD.

04' SRT4s have LSDs, and mine chripped 3rd with S2, 1 solid motor mount, and bov ( which does nothing for a SRT4 ).

I took the jet to a local hot-rod shop ( hot rogers ), and they had this really sweet flare-jet measuring kit. Turns out that its a 0.014 jet ( really small ), and it was the smallest jet he had and could get...

I dumped the water completely and put in some 70% alcoy/30% water and the popping has stopped completely.

I forgot to put a resistor on my LED so it burned out ( 5V led on a 12V source ), so I haven't been ablet to tell when its coming on (or IF its coming on ).

I'll keep you guys updated, and thanx for taking the time to try to help me out.

BTw the current stock turbo dyno champ for SRT4s makes 339whp, so I doubt I'll get to 400whp, but I can see maybe 350whp after I port/modify the stock turbo/manifold.

I do have a map clamp, which if your not aware ( I know you guys have MAFs ), will limit the amount of boost the PCM can see, and it will do a couple things. #1 since my cars PCM controls the boost it will turn the boost up, #2 it will lean the car out, and #3 it will increase timing which is icing on the cake to keep my EGTs down along with the W/I.

My car now has a 3.5'' downpipe and 4'' catback that I built from a spare cumming turbo diesal exhaust I had laying around, 5mm over bored throttle body, catch-can, check valve inline with ONE on the PVCs since it leaks about 2psi sometimes ( but the other valve vents the crank ), and a 3'' O2 housing.

With only the S2 and a broken top motor mount ( sheared the bolts right off !! ), it ran 13.6@104mph with a 2.360ft. so traction is aready an issue, but I can't give up handling and slicks at the track aren't my thing since you don't dirve the streets on MT drag slicks....

I wanna try to hit 106-109mph at my next visit to the track, and maybe a 13.0-13.3 ET.
I went to Orlando Speed world one night, and it sucked, I maniged a 14.8@102mph, hehe !!! ( went 13.7@103 that night too ), but I haven't had the car long enough to get any good "cool" track days with it, but fall/winter comes after summer.
 
You're good and on your way. 4 " exhaust is cool. Too bad you can't raise the boost. That's where the supplemental injection really comes in to help. See if you can get your LED working. Lower the turn on point to about 5 psi. I have mine set to 2.5 psi. The longer you can spray=more cooling benifits, also your full boost Rpm onset ( you said you reach full boost @ 1900?) will drop a few hundred RPM. Always nice. Tip.... Be sure the shur-flo pump has @ least 3/8 " id unrestricted line from your bottle. also, you can try denatured alcohol as a test. If meth is hard to find. That SRT-4 will rip!
