I don't know about the ones from Kirbans but I had a set from Postons that didn't stand the heat of my GN. they melted in like 3 months. I then replaced them with 10mm Magnecore wires wich have lasted about 1 1/2 to 2 years now. I bought them from Bowling Green Customs now Southern Customs for like $40 bucks with shipping.
The ones from Poston's and Kirban's are the same. Not bad if your trying to go for the stock look, but theres definately better out there.
I have been satisfied with the Magnecors. I have the 10mm version, but the 8.5 are good as well (my brother has them). They are the same wire, just more insulation on the 10mm which definately gives a look that stands out.
Got mine from Ramchargers. 8.5mm are $69 and the 10mm are $75. Turbojitsu, Ive never heard of them for 40 bucks...... Im jealous
The Magnecors are red. Most places advertise the 86-87 ones, but they also make/have them for 84-85. You just have to ask.
I didnt think about it when I ordered them and wound up installing the 86-87 ones. There are about two wires that were a little short (I think) but they will work, you just have to be smart about which spot to use which one. I have also spoke to the guy who owns/runs Magnecor and he seemed real helpful. He said if I ever had any problem with a wire, or wanted to get one of a different length that he could send out singles. He also was the one that let me know that he does make a different set for the 84-85s and that Ramchargers had them. I just didnt ask for the right ones . Oh well theyve been on for a while now, look good and work good .
I looked at the Southern Customs website and I saw the Magnecores for $67 dollars but I could have sworn that I paid $37 dollars and I can't find the reciept. Oh well I guess I made another mistake.
i also made a plug wire hold down on the passenger side valvecover out of ~5" of coat hanger wire, looks like factory, and it keeps my plugwires close to the VC, off the downpipe.
they will never get close enough to burn ever again.
