Seems like everyone gets the Pypes SGG50R race pro. Anyone have the SGG50S street pro? Do the chambered street mufflers have less or more drone? Less/ more noise or performance?

Most people, including Pypes and myself, definitely want to use the race pro muffler as is flows better than a chambered muffler.

I have installed 4 of these systems in the past 2 months and are the easiest, and best GN systems I have found, especially when the price is considered! :)

My street car has no "drone", just a nice powerful sound when you get on it. ;)

The Pypes race pro system went in in fairly easy, (4 jack stands on garage floor). fit well too! High and tight no cutting needed. Pretty quiet, using catalytic converter still. Now I can hear all the little squeaks and chirps from the 28 yr old car.
Has some drone around 1700-1800 but I'm hardly ever cruising with that RPM. About 50-60 mph. ( stock converter). So not an issue

What else is needed for the install besides the SGG50R Pypes kit? I do not have a converter - instead there is a test pipe with side cutout/cap.

Patience is a plus.
The test pipe should have a rectangle flange on it. If it does you're good to go.
Having the stock hanger for the cat converter location is good to have to support the front if the system.
Tools needed were Drill, set of bits, standard wrenches / sockets. 4 jack stands. Saws-all was a big plus when cutting the old system out. Floor jack. I also used a torpedo level to help make sure the mufflers were flat but a good eye would also do. I had a floor creeper which was nice but not necessary.
I did the front jacks on the frame rails under the door hinges first. A few notches at a time till the were fully extended
For the rear i put the floor jack under the gear housing and jacked up. Then I put the jack stands under the shock mounts. This kept the rear springs compressed so I could fit the Pypes as if it was already on the ground.
Laying the system out before removing the old stuff is in the directions and highly recommended. I would have been SOL if I was missing a part on the new and didn't find out till after I cut off the old.

The race pro Pypes system is the one we been selling for a number of years. Owner of Pypes has been a long time personal friend of ours. We have the systems in stock and have reduced the price to I believe $399.95 which includes ups ground to any of the basic 48 states. We sell a good number of these every year. Pypes is only about 20 minutes from our shop. He started his GTO business about 10 years after I started ours.

I bought my Pypes exhaust after hearing it on a GN on youtube. I don't have the link, but the video is still there.
