How much torque is the motor, that 87Turbo-TWE4 has in front of his transmission, making? Does he have a NEED for a larger servo?

Who cares. His original post was about billet servos. All posts should be directed at the various billet servos and nothing else. I see people on these forums replacing much more expensive parts like turbos when they actually arent even close to maximizing what is on their car to begin with. Do you need a 70 mm TB on your engine?

Servo question

How does the larger servo affect 2-3 apply timing?
Mine was hanging on to second at low RPM.
I installed a CK plate this helped alot but to totally eliminate it I went back to the stock servo.

Before my rebuild I installed a super servo it firmed up 1-2 and 2-3 got me another summer out of a tired 160k tranny
make sure to install the big cushion spring or it will clunk on the down shift.

probably 450-550 at the motor when he gets his alky installed

Answer me this...

Will his car shift better with a billet servo? YES

Will the band have a longer life expectancy and have more clamping power? YES
Is the servo reusable on his next rebuild? YES

Maybe he wants a good firm shift without rebuilding or doing other calibration changes.
I use CKs servo(or a 200 3 spd servo in applications less than 450 trq) and every time I have installed one in stock transmission that is in reasonable health the trans has shifted cleaner and crisper. Its a cheap easy modification that works without even dropping the pan.

Thanks for all the good info. guys. I think I will try a CK servo and see how it does. I have a very low mileage tranny with a TransGo shift kit and external cooler. I'm sure the servo will not hurt any. Thanks again.

Is there something about your current 1-2 shift that you don't like?

Why is it ok for you to post a reply telling me what I should be posting? What does this have to do with the various servos? Have you made this guy aware of any other after market servos other than the one sold at CK? Why didn't you remind Chris that all posts should be directed toward the various servos on the market when he decided to use his post to call me a girl?

Not particularly. It has a nice neck snapping shift from 1-2. I just wanted to add a servo so I can make sure my tranny will last as long as it can. Plus, the benefits are pretty nice.

None of us need these cars and none of us need to spend the money we spend on them. Our addiction to these cars is very foolish and wastefull. I don't need a 70 mm TB nor do I need anything else I've spent money on for my car. My motor makes more power with it so I want it because of my foolish addiction. This servo you're pushing won't help his car run a better quarter mile time. It won't make his band last longer. If the band isn't burning, increased clamping force is a waste of money. You can't get better than a band that isn't burnt. I put 700 lb/ft of torque through my stock servo.I've never burned a band in 20 years nor have I broken an ancor pin or band. This servo is a waste of money for this guy at this power level.

TTYPE 6,Look ,you strayed off topic because you have a problem with me,Chris @ CK.If anyone searches your posts they will find this to be obvious .Most of us here are intelligent.Instead of hijacking the post just start another thread in the Vendor Feedback section stating like you did before that my manual is junk and youve purchased a seperator plate or shift kit from me and it didnt work,or you dont like it because.....If youve been playing with your car for 20 years you may be further along in life than me and as such should be a man and state your discredits with me instead of being a behind the scenes puppet.Im a big boy ,I can take it.Or be a man and call me.All your proving here is your dislike for me is great enough for you to pollute threads with because you dont value your time enough to be doing something important with it.Leave me alone ,dont provoke someone who cant get to you, provoke someone who can and then reach inside to see if you have the courage to back it up when they look in your eyes.I spend day and night working on these transmissions and developing products.Im not perfect and am not spot on all the time but as you can see by the replies there is a large group using my products sucessfully and who were just PLAIN AND SIMPLE GIVING THE GUY AN HONEST REPLY TO HIS QUESTION.Trying to make me blow my cool in public or cave in under your pressure is cowardly.Wrong move lady.

My motor makes more power with it
You must be referring to a different engine than the one in your sig.
700 lb/ft of torque through my stock servo
Maybe, but probably not. The 700 lb/ft i mean:biggrin:

Ive used many different servos. PTS, Sonnax, large 200C, stock BR, CK, and at least 2 or more others in 600+hp applications. None were band burners. There is a definite change in feel with a larger servo. Some may want the feel and dont care whether or not they are making their car quicker.

Some guys here also have the bq trans or others that dont use the 694 servo,.These servos are marginal for performance applications.

Sorry to high jack the thread, but I have a CK Performance stage 1 trans, did it come with an upgrded servo?

It depends on when it was purchased.A few months ago it became standard because of the scarcity of the GN servo,as well as the fact that it works so much better.

I almost never post on these sites but i will tell ya one thing , having owned my own automotive business for 12 years and being in the business for 30 years their is one thing that stands true , you can never please everyone no matter what you do , almost everyone is ready to talk crap on you for something that didn't work right no matter how hard you may try to make it right. I also have used the sonnax super servo , superior ect , started using ck performance products a few years ago and love it. I own a 10 sec silver regal driven every day and take it to the track when time permits , ck shift kit , billet forward drum ect over 100 passes and still works great. Keep up the good work chris.

I have one of Chris servo and shift kit, no complaints. He is obviously a busy guy and hard to get on the phone, when I have spoken with him he has always been a stand-up guy willing to take the time to answer my question. Unfortunately, that's hard to find anymore.

My honest reply and advice to this guy is he doesn't need a larger servo. He doesn't need anyones servo. I don't care who sells it. Quote me where I said your manual is junk. Quote me where I ever called anyone names ever. Quote me where I said your servo is junk or doesn't work or doesn't increase clamping force on the direct drum. Quote me where I personally attacked your character or voiced my dislike for you as a person. If I did,in fact, write these things you could easily quote me. Do It. Why can't I say something isn't needed when my personal experience is it isn't.

probably not. The 700 lb/ft i mean:biggrin:
Probably not,but all of 650.

Here is an example of two factual statements. Thank you for not accusing me of saying anything contrary to these statements. The statement I made is equally factual. He doesn't need a bigger servo. Are you saying he does? If the answer is no,we agree.

almost everyone is ready to talk crap on you for something that didn't work right no matter how hard you may try to make it right.
I hope your're not accusing me of that. If you are, please quote me.

His question was about billet servos and not if the 694 was adequate for his application. It could be that the pin bore on his 694 is worn and he wants a billet replacement

Does he need a larger servo at his power level. Is he in danger of hurting his trans if he doesn't get one. Please answer the question. DOES HE NEED A LARGER SERVO?
