ok guys i have a PTS built street/strip 200r4 with about 10000 miles or so on it. ive also picked up a th400 for cheap with no go fast parts on it what so ever. the next intended motor build is gonna land somewhere in the 750 hp range. i know that the 200 in its current state of build would live just under 600 hp crank and the th400 could be built to around 16-1800 hp crank for cheap(compared to the 200).

my question is this; would it be cheaper/ smarter to built the 400 with a transbrake and manual valve body for my 750 hp goal?

or.... would "freshing up" the 200r4 with the same transbrake and manual valve body, for 750 hp be the better choice (knowing that id need more hard parts for the HP goal)?

i was thinking of using the 200, any input??

Do you want overdrive for the street to save gas or not?
If you want od stick with the 200 if not go for the cheaper 400 for strictly track car. But thats just my opinion. I you got the money do both keep the 400 for back up:biggrin:

well the car will be driven on the street some so fourth gear is always more fun especially with a 4000 plus stall:p. that being said i can live without 4th.

i was more thinking about the grand total cost of freshing up a
200r4 that was previously built vs. a total rebuild of a th400... with a 750hp engine, would using a 200r4 even be reliable with the right hard parts?

I would think so, i figure if the guys here could build a 200r they also could build a 400 strong also check with brian, bruce,or chris at ckperformance.

which way to go

myself I think build the 200 ,350turbo or 400trans it takes away from the grand national:cool:
