Does anybody know what this wire is for? I checked it for ground and also for power at the relay behind the glove box and it doesn't seem to do either. My new antenna won't go down (motor works- antenna went up ok) and I wonder if the relay is bad. I do get power at the green wire, and the grey wire provides a ground. Thanks.

White wire is labeled down in the manual.

Should always have power on it when radio is OFF and the relay is Not Active no switching.

Power goes away from the white wire when the relay kicks in and the radio is turned to on.

With the radio OFF and making sure the gray wire has no power and the relay is OFF you could use a 5A fused jumper from battery power to the white wire and see what happens.

Dark Green wire should be GROUND with the radio off and relay OFF.

Measure that first to be sure before trying power on the white wire directly.

It is a reversing power/ground relay and wiring scheme.

Thanks Salvage. I tried putting power to white wire and nothing happened. I think I need a new relay. With my test light, I hooked the ground wire to grey and touched the green wire and the light lit up. Wouldn't that make green positive? Does it sound to you like the relay is only sending a signal to the green wire? It does click when I put power to the blue wire in the wiring harness. But since the antenna is already up, the antenna doesn't move, nor do I hear the antenna motor run.

Here's a test I would do if possible.

IF you can REMOVE the gray, green, and white wires from the relay completely and it's contacts try grounding the green wire and put +12 on the white wire.

The antenna should go down at this point with no relay power or grounds to bother it or short something out.

I don't know the connectors and wiring there myself haven't dove into that part of my car yet luckily, mines been broken up in the WE4 and my NOS original is going in the GN but that one works right now.

Anyway sounds more like the reversing switch in the antenna itself is bad at this point.

IF you can isolate the wiring to the antenna you will know for sure.

(1) Disconnected wire harness at antenna
(2) Ran hot wire to white wire
(3) Ran ground to green
(4) Antenna went down!

I hooked up the blue remote turn on lead from radio to radio wire harness. I turned on radio and heard a click from the relay, but antenna stayed down. Also, when I looked at the contacts in the relay, they have that bluish green corroded tint. Do you think the contacts are just corroded? I went ahead and ordered a new relay today. So are we getting somewhere? Thanks Salvage!

Assuming you disconnected the harness at the relay and not the antenna I would say the relay is bad.

I also assume the motor stopped when the mast got to the bottom automatically?

If so it sounds like the relay is bad. :)
