i had a couple pictures up but man i have not stopped nor sat down in the past 4 months!

the work has been out of control, i cant wake up theres not enough time in the day anymore

i have a regular shop 2 bays 2 pumps been there with father for about 28 years

any one else doing good?

When can I schedule an appointment?

Maybe you should cutback on what you take in.
Or work with another friendly shop in town & throw business each others way

at the end of every day we leave with a clean slate for tommarow few times except for long term jobs liek engines or trans or heads we get a little backed up but right now the way i see it it cant get any better

1. my location is not in the best area at all but clean weich means they drive beaters and hooptys

2. few people have money to dump for a new car 20-40k

3. they would rather spend whatever it is on there own car and know the history of it they had it for a while before they sell it for a major problem

for me the economy is working on my favor in this business

its all how it settle out in the end about your occupation if your business is a luxary or a neccesity and 99 percent of people have to get to work by car to survive and i am the one that makes sure they get there

just wanted to see how other regular mechanics who do it for a living are doing business wise.

Mabe i'll come work for you i work at a VW/AUDI dealer and from last year i think i'll be 10k less than last year but at least i still have a job

We're dead for the last 8 months. My boss wants only the "top ten percent" like an idiot. I make more in sidwork than he pays me on a regular basis. Baptist, what can you do???

idk i dont like to really hire new guys unless something happens or i get sick,

i had one guy for 5 months and that was it it just made me lazy and really made me feel like the boss lol but i cant take that i could of done everything this guy is doing and i will know it was done 100 percent right why should i pay him lol just not me

im more than happy to be on my feet getting cars in and out all day long it just makes you appreciate everything alot more when you earn it and know you put in a hard days work when i get home i sit down relax shower and it fels hundred times better than if i toook the day off

Where is your shop located? I live in the D/C area and almost all of my mechanic friends have been squealing for years. Half have changed professions like me. I used to own a 4 lift shop and I was making a killing in the late 90"s. Saw it slowing down so 4 years ago I got out. Glad I did. I do miss the good years sometimes though. Most of the people around here have steady Government or military jobs so they replace cars about every 3 or 4 years.
