Who has installed a Stagerite brake themselves?

I just got my stagerite brake and the instructions are a little advanced. I have pulled the valvebody from my allison Duramax for a transgo Jr shift kit that seems the same level of skill required, but the instructions were way better.
Any help would be appreciated.

Another thing I never seen before is the material used for the seperater plates. Its like gasket material...I thought it was suppoed to be metal?
