Here is one of their e-bay items that I clicked on.... Winters 5 on 4-3/4 Grand National Replace Hub Assembly | eBay

Ahhh that makes sense now... So basically e-bay sellers and their adds get Free advertising here while the other vendors have to pay? I just wonder how many people here actually use this and if it be worth keeping? The Ebay stuff is fetched automatically by RSS feeds. The forum software pulls the links and posts the stuff up. Its always been this way, just the feature didnt work exactly right with the last version of VB.
It gets posted under the "admin" user account.

Thanks Jay, I wasn't aware that the company actually paid you guy's. I know it's not a forum but I run & maintain my whole web site myself and am familiar with the costs and time that these sites require I can only imagine what it takes to run this site.. Thanks for the reply. Its a source of revenue for this site. The URLs get rewritten and the company that offers the service pays us. Sorry to tell you but vendor fees alone will not keep this site afloat. Hosting alone is almost $700 a month.

I have a real problem with the entitlement people here seem to have regarding this site.
Should have saved the $2,000.

See? Didnt take long for my point to be made. Its so AWESOME spending multiple hours a month working on this site for the GRATEFUL userbase we have here.
On the plus side, Im really enjoying being able to ban people from threads.
I love they guys that don't have a clue what it costs every month to keep this board up... I am not a computer tech, so nothing is "free" around here... I bend over backwards spend 20+hours a week working on this board doing all the things many have no clue even take place... Pronto the $2000 is just a drop in the bucket of the overall budget of this site... I guess you may have felt better if we saved the 2k and the forum got hacked and we lost tons of stuff etc... Mental notes are taken
I don't to appear ungrateful, i appreciatte all the hard work you guys have done!
Is there anyway to turn something off on our user cp so all the ads won't appear when i hit New Posts or do we just live with it. It makes it difficult to me read the new post. But either way--thanks for your time and effort.
Geoff
I have no idea what youre talking about. I see one ad at the top of the page and its only a place holder until I can get the vendor banners squeezed back in.
Ok, i will be clearer. When i hit the "New Posts" button--there is 5 ebay auction posts to every "new post" that is related to the board and its content.

Shane,
I hope your not pulling that out of your pocket, are you? I mean, the site does make enough to support itself? Right?
You should really consider a donate button bro. Even a few bucks here and there can add up. I think people would like to show appreciation when they get real results.
Something to think about.
Rick
