Having porn on your site opens you up to a huge liability. Most of those pictures are copyrighted and it doesnt take long for the copyright police to come along.

Guess that mean you already looked in to that huh LOL

I used to run SRTForums.Com and we had a Super Off Topic section there so yea, I know all about it.

I have a good idea..... For Shane to get people to "click" on the ad's here couldn't a small "x" be put in the upper right hand corner of the add then when someone goes to get rid of the add by clicking on that "x" it automatically acts as it is a click but it also removes the add until the next time someone visits that page or your done viewing it...

Exactly the same process as watching a YouTube video on the youtube site.... Those ad's pop up on the video and everyone clicks on the "x" to remove them for better viewing... it's a Win/Win for everyone.... The viewer gets rid of the Add, the add gets a "Click" and the host receives money!

Thats against Google's terms of service. We cant ask you to click on ads nor can we do anything to trick people into clicking on them.

I wouldn't know as I have a very energetic Sicilian wife but it looks like you know about those Porn pop-ups quite well... I was referring to the ones on this site which do not bother me at all btw.... I was just trying to help..

Ah yes, super off topic. Reminds me of the T6P days.

FWIW I was joking about the porn. I remember the legal hassle being a factor in SOT being pulled from T6P. And I think it hurts yellowbullet. The place is full of people who are there just because it's uncensored, who contribute nothing.

Thats cuz we're all old. I bought my first GN new in 1987. I know Dan did and Ritchie did (He had his before me) and there are a few originals left. Almost all of the original Turbo Regal heros have moved on. Hell, most of them didnt last 5 years. I dont think anyone that won a class at the '88 GS Nats is even still into Buicks anymore.

Jay,

You are probably right and that is a bit of an eye opener for me. My Dad bought his 86 GN in 1986 and since he passed I now own it plus I have purchased my own 86 GN. Not many original owner / racers still around.

Give me a paypal account that will go to support of this site and I will send you five bucks RIGHT NOW....seriously. Every few months I will do that. Set up a year/life long membership thing and I'll do that..but I would want perks for that one...specifically ad blocks and the ability to choose which forums I few on new posts.

Please? TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!

Why dont you guys get together with the vendors and the event coordinators people on here and put together a goodie bag of sorts and make it so basic membership is free but if you pay it gets you certain discounts/a t shirt, patch, license plate holder, lanyard, dvds, jackets, keychains maybe a poster or calander ...

Get with the vendors and do cool stuff in the goodie bags not cheesy stuff that will end up in the trash pile ,event discounts, product discounts and have like a member tent at the track so you get certain perks at the track.. Like a barcecue or a dinner for members at the turbo buick.com nats and like pop and water, snacks veggie trays, hotdogs or like an ac cool tent etc at other events etc...

You could have different levels of membership like one package for people that dont attend events but want goodies, another for those that are at all the events and could benefit from different perks like discounted event admission .... You guys could maybe get together with vendors in a particular area show up at some big car shows carlisle, deroit autorama ,car craft nats hot rod power tour, etc together under one big tent so it dosent cost you or them so much individually so we will have more vendor turnout.... We can push our community and make things bigger i think it would be cool....

Not against fees or whatever it takes to be able to use this site. My suggestion maybe stems from cruising season being over with up here, but
why not a weekly 50/50 drawing for this board... Probably would generate enough cash easily if their is someway to possibly implement it.

Or maybe raffle off vendor item(s) a few times a month. And the proceeds over the cost of the item would go to the site. I'm sure a lot of people wouldnt mind ponying up a few bucks at a chance to win some new parts, and/or cash regularly. Would also help the vendors out as well as contribute to the forum.
The cost of the raffle could be adjusted to the price of the vendor item, as well as adjusted based off of the kind of participation the program was getting.

Just adds the factor of contributing and having a chance to win something for your contributions instead of a straight fee for use.
