I'm debating on getting the Hooker cat-back kit for my 86 WH1. How long have you had it on your car and how has it held up to year-round use? Would you buy it again if you had the choice?

I have used this exhaust system for over 2 years. It was one of the first mods I made. Bang of the Buck - this system rocks!

I my car has only been driven 1000 miles in the last 2 years but it has held up very well. Alum. usually does.

I didn't like the mufflers though - they droan at 2000 -2200 rpm
(with no cat). I love the DynoMax mufflers on there now. Much better.

If it fails, I will be buying another Hooker system.

Good luck.

I have it on both my cars with a test pipe for a year now. I have the aerochamber mufflers that come with the newer systems. Bolted up well, find a lift if you can. Has a nice sound at idle, cruising, WOT, and not too noisey. Seems to flow great, I know I've read that it has been on low 11 second cars. Yea, I'd buy it again. Good price, good product.

hooker

I'm on my second Hooker system now, first one lasted about
6 or 7 years till the pipes rotted out. I think it's a nice system,
fits the car well and sounds good

i have the hooker 2.5 system on my car...i have the aerochamber muffs too...the car is very quiet for the most part and it sneaks up on people very nicely :) had mine for almost a year and no problems...

Have installed these for about the same amount of time, and are the easiest to install and sound great with the Aerochambers.

None here have rusted out yet and probably will not for another 6-7 years. But for those that do live in areas where that is a problem, three Hooker systems for ~$300 each vs. one stainless system for $900, gives the nod to Hooker.:D

I've got the Hooker system from their downpipe back. It's been installed since around 1993-'94 and has well over 100,000 miles on it. (Well, I did remove the mufflers some years back.)

Only problems were the tailpipe hangers broke off a couple times but it was an easy weld repair. Good buy!

Is this hooker exhaust comparable to the stainless ATR Pitbull 2 1/2 dual when it comes to being quiet? Those ATR systems are very quiet and that's what I'm looking for, but pricey. Has anyone compared the two?

Good flow for the $$$, sounds good, and fits like a glove. My dad has this system on his car and noticed no appreciable gain in ET by dumping it.

7 years here, not 1 single problem. Mine dosnt get driven in the snow tho, but sometimes the rain. Overall best system for the money :)
