Who rebuilds converters?

The OE converter out of my TTA has a fried clutch lining. I would like to have it replaced and have the rest of the converter overhauled. Can someone point me in the direction of a tranny shop capable of properly R&R the clutch lining and overhauling it?
I had a local connection who recently ceased rebuilding converters, even though he has tens of thousands of dollars worth of this type of equiptment sitting in his shop collecting dust??? TIA
