I am looking to pick up a heavy bag for use in my new house. 8'4" from the bottom of the steel i-beam to the floor. Who uses what at home? I am looking for one to help keep me in shape and still fit within a 150-250 dollar budget. I have seen some 100 and 120 lb units on ebay. What about the water filled ones? Thanks

I use a 100lb one and like it.

I have a standard 100 pound heavy bag and a water filled flood bag. If you are going to use that bag as an all around work out bag( like MMA conditioning) get the hanging heavy bag its more versatile. If you are just going to circle and hit the bag but not hit it too hard then get the water filled base bag. The water filled ones will move around if you hit them hard enough. The hanging bags are good for every use and seem to hold up better. Harry

100lb bag, I dont really like the water ones, they are annoying, ut go try one out, get a free day pass to a gym...most major gyms have the water ones. You will find that you probably wont like them, but to each their own.

I got mine at Sears. I love it. It is on its own platform. I had no place to hang it. My gym is my loft above my lobby of my business.

At different

times in my life, I've had two. Both were eventually described as "heavy". Both have since been divorced!:D:D

The water bag will require another person to hold it for you. If not, the bag will fly all over the place.

Get a heavy bag. It's easier to work with.

This one works pretty good. Century Wavemaster Free Standing Heavy Bag

The wave master is worthless if you want to hit it hard. It slides alot on a carpeted or smooth floor. OK if somebody holds it for you

Not when u fill it up with sand. Carpet is a must tho I agree. I just placed a small piece of carpet under mine when I used it.

Yes, Century are known for their Kickboxing equipment actually. I use to buy all my sparring equipment (gloves/shoes) from them back in the day:)
