To answer your question, I would make sure to put a good cold weather battery (Or an Optima if it were mine.)

I hear bad things about Optima anymore. I was really into off-roading and I'm still on several forums, and guys used to buy Optimas because of the heavy amp draw of winches, extra lights, etc. But I see alot of complaints about them anymore, maybe the quality has gone downhill.

I wonder what it is? Thanks for the heads up.

Voodoo !!!!

I've never had one, I'm just going by things I've read. But I will say that off road rigs and all of the junk running off of a battery will kill a battery 10 times faster than having it on a car. Winch a stuck rig out just on the battery and you'll kill it fast, I don't care what battery it is!

I read the other thread where everyone said they hated the red top optima batteries. Ive had a used one in my white car for 4 years and its never failed me. The car sat for over 2 years and it fired right up, i do not leave the battery cables plugged in when the car sits for long periods of time.

Its just a battery, not too hard to take care of....

For the money and the weight savings, just down size the battery a few group sizes and shed a few pounds off the front and get a off the shelf walmart battery if its a daily driver and if your worried about it.

I do like the walmart batteries, they seem to work pretty good.

I plan on using mine as a DD during the spring, summer and fall. Won't drive during winter, thats what winter beaters are for. Cars don't last long around here with all the salt. We have only had about an inch snow and theres enough salt on the roads for the rest of winter.
