Hey,

Looking for a good washer fluid to use with a WI setup (Aquamist 2c Kit). I've heard of people doing this before. My setup isn't for a GN. I got limited room for another tank, the washer tank is my best solution, BUT I want to keep my washer working too. I need a fluid I can squirt in the motor and squirt on the windsheild WITHOUT any ill effects. Any one got any advice to steer me in the right direction? I figrued this would be the best place to ask, you guys are the experts in there area.

Thanks!

Make your own. 50% methanol, 50% water. Just dont use a "dye".

Some guys run the dye through theyre motors.

For high boost applications I have never had the success I have with alcohol using water in any mixes. If you want consisntency, then mix your own. The store bought who knows whats inside.

Also the ones with bug remover, soaps, waxes, etc added.. use at your discretion.

Really? I can do this? Will the "cleaning power" be affected any for the windsheild? Will excess damage be caused to the wipers? Will the paint be affected any at all? Those are my concerns. If I could get away with mixing my own, i'd much rather do this they buy off the shelf washer fluid.

For the Aquamist 2c, with the 50/50 Methanol + Water mix do I need to run a "lube" too for the Aquamist pump? I've heard of this before, not sure what it means though. Also, when you mention "water", you mean distilled bottled water not tap water right?

Thanks,

Shawn,
Your asking some question that unless we had the specific makeup of your alcohol.. cannot be answered.

Yes windshield washer fluid is 50/50. As far as distilled.. cant hurt.

I dont run any water, also dont have the pump durability issue using alcohol.

You'd be probably better off getting a small tank and using it for your windshield washer.. and not getting into what ifs?

Lube.. you better not spray oil on your windshield

So if your pump can take it or not.. man dont know. I dont mess with those pumps. And mixing water, oil, and alcohol.. what a mess than can turn into. Ya know oil and water doesnt mix.
