My car never had a problem with it before. but now it seems when ever i get above 9 psi i get any where for 17 to 40 degrees of knock. i can hear it and feel it so its not false. The fuel pressure is at 40 with the line on and it goes to 57psi if i get to 15 lbs. O2s are high 800 to low 900. So far i have changed spark plugs gaped them at 35, put new coil pack and new wires. Also I looked in the intercooler piping for oil but there isnt any. i havent done a coapression check but thats what im afraid of so is there any other thing im over looking. Steve

What scan tool are you using.If it is turbolink make sure it is in the normal mode.There is a diagnostic mode that sets certain parameters and can make your car knock.Bruce

Hows your timing chain doing?

Start the car and run it in Batch Fire mode for a pass (Unplug the cam sensor)

See if that makes it better.

Could have just filled up with a bad tank of fuel?

i have a scan master and i just replaced the timing chain about two weeks ago.

40 degrees !!! i dont think i saw that much when i spun a bearing .. are you sure there isnt something broken .. check your oil .. if that doesnt have any particles in it pull your valve covers to see if a rocker backed off.. also check your torque converter bolts to see if the might have come loose...

This is gonna seem wierd to you but give it a chance. I just fixed my buds WE4 a few months back after he was getting crazy knock in the 30's and 40's.

What it turned out to be was the cam sensor. It wasn't set correctly. I set it correctly and now the knock is gone completely. If you just got done changing your timing chain, chances are that you might not have set the cam sensor correctly.

well the reason i changed the timing chain and gears is because some how i guess a lifter collapsed and flatened a lobe. When i put the cam sensor back in i made sure it was 25* atdc then worked with the cam sensor until i got the window to face the front drivers side and then tightened it down i borrowed a cam sensor tool and as soon as i plugged it in it turned red so i dont know???maybe ill try reseting it. oil pressure is good at warm idle its about 15psi .

Yep, I'd reset it again. My buddies cam sensor was set so that the Casper's red light came on too, but it was off just enough so the computer did not like it.

Remember to turn it clockwise first until the red light goes off, then back counterclockwise until it comes back on. Just as soon as it comes back on, lock it down and you should be good.

well reset the cam sensor and i changed the oil at the same time. when i was draining the oil i smelt fuel. fuel in the oil could this be a blowned intake gasket or what else. havent driven yet since.

No. It happened to me too as I was trying to crank the engine over and over again. My problem was the crank sensor not set correctly. Your problem sounds like the cam sensor needs to be reset properly. However, I would change the oil once you get it fired up.

Re-read you post, you already changed the oil. Did resetting the cam sensor help any?
