Who's cancelling due to gas prices?

Maybe I'm nuts, out of touch or just plain stupid HOWEVER consider the following:

Go 1000 miles at 10 MPG and you have used 100 gallons of fuel, gas or diesel, take your pick. At $3.00/gallon that's $300.00 you will spend in fuel. At $5.00/gallon, that's $500.00 you spend in fuel.

If that difference of $200.00 is that big a deal in your life and finances that you will not attend a Buick event or any other family or fun event that is really special to you and requires travel of 1,000 miles, then you have far bigger financial problems than to ever consider any vacation time, time with your family or Buick racing fun.

A second or third job would be the best place to spend your spare time!

Maybe you should consider/remember 1973 and the Arab Oil Embarge when you might have to sit in line for an hour for the priviledge to maybe buy 10 gallons of gas. That's if they did not run out of gas before you could get to the pump!!!

$5.00/gallon gas/diesel and the ability to buy all you want sure beats the hell out $2.00 gas/diesel and waiting in line!

Just a personal observation.

I totally agree. We have no control over the fuel costs. Its not even worth bitching about. I still see SUV's flying by me on the highway when im going 70mph. I dont think they are to concerned about fuel costs. Even if it was $10.00/gallon id still pay the price and continue on as i normally do. If they are worried about spending $200 more in fuel then they shouldnt be on vacation. I totally agree. If they slowed down 20% on the highway they would net nearly 20% in extra mileage if they are used to traveling 75-80mph.

I am going with my Dad and 2 brothers. Split the gas makes it very easy on the pockets when 4 guys are chipping in.:biggrin:

Same here. I have 2 people riding down with me. We are also splitting the hotel costs 3 ways.

I'm out for Bowling Green but I'll be a BPG in Ohio for sure. Over the winter I got strep so many times the doctor now says my tonsils have to come out ASAP! So I'll be using my BG vacation/days off time to get that done. What fun! On top of that my GN is still in the body shop getting wet sanded and more clear coat on it so that's not even ready. Next year for sure in Bowling Green!
