Would there be any reason why an adjustable wastegate is needed when using an RJC valve ?

yes. you can only get so much increase in boost from the RJC controller. I still have to use my wategate for fine tunning.

I've used those little beauties for years.
On 2.2 turbo Dodges YEARS ago and I'm presently using one on my turbocharged VW dune buggy.
The valve portion is about $8 at Grainger and work great.

i have taken my car all the way to 28psi with the stock wastegate and the RJC controller. as far as hook up one end goes to the wastegate the other end goes to the nipple on the compressor cover.

install help

I've read what you've wrote, but I'm still confused. This is how its set up know. I understand the non adjustable end goes to the turbo, but if i conect the other end to the waste gate I'll end up with open end hoses.

Looks...almost right. The end with the 90 degree fitting goes towards the turbo, and the straight end to the wastegate. Theres only 2 fittings so nothing goes to the wastegate solenoid on the valve cover.

you dont use the wastegate solonoid or the y . take a piece of hose attach to the compressor housing then to the non adjustable hose barb of the bleeder valve then the other barb end of the bleeder valve the adjustable part attach a hose to it then to the wastegate of the turbo and wella your done

Now it makes sense. Thank you very much. When my wife returns with the car I will hook it up and see what I think. Did you remove the waste gate solonoid? What about the wiring going to it? Did you remove that?

If you remove the solenoid and wiring your computer will freak out. Just leave it hooked up.

Is there a way to completely remove the wastegate solenoid without code 31 and the check engine light popping up? This valve strikes me as more adjustable and simpler than the solenoid. Plus my solenoid doesn't work right now anyway

So what is the difference between unplugged and removed completely? That seems to be the question. Taking the wires out of the ECM connector or what?
