Soaks the filter in the bottom of the canister and drips all over the garage floor. Is the solenoid bad? Too much pressure in the tank? Any ideas?

A quick and easy thing to check is the check valve going to the container. While you're there if you notice the hoses turn your finger black as coal, replace them too.

Had the same problem, then the fuel pump went bad and stopped working After mechanic changed to a new fuel pump, never had gas dripping from the canister again.

If the hose between the fuel pump and sender fails it can spray fuel into the CCP vent line.

Don't quite follow you. "hose between the fuel pump and sender", what do you mean by sender? The main line to the fuel rail, or the return line? Also, "CCP" ....charcoal canister purge?

The sender is the piece in the fuel tank that holds the fuel pump along with the fuel level gauge float set up. It goes into the top of the tank and is retained by a sliding ring.

CCP (yes), charcoal canister purge. The 5/16" hard line from the tank is the vent line for the CCP system.
