Have no clue about the history, reasoning or anything.. But just goes to show that a seatbelt may have helped a bit..

It seems to me that I would have taken my right hand off of the passenger seat headrest and put it on the damned wheel if I was losing control of a car.

All I know is that the company "DriveCam" is a risk management organization that puts cams in to fleet managed machines.. maybe this was a beta tester, or running it to test it out.. But i really dont know,.
