wideband 6.1 chip and powerlogger

I just recently installed an aem wideband gauge and connected the white wire to the powerlogger block... started and stalled my question is do I need powerlogger attached to use the 6.1 chip or can I run with out the plc and laptop hooked uphalf the time or is it possible a setting I messed up or connection ..thanks

No, doesn't need to be connected. You have another issue.

its just weird because when I put my 5.7 alcohol chip back in it works fine
