I have a purple wire delco o2 and it's reading in the 690mv range, but my wbo2 is showing an afr of 8.36. There is no knock, TT alky chip, 21.2 timing in high gear. 20 psi.... @ 17 psi the readings were 730mv and 7.2 afr.....should I just keep leaning it out and watch for knock?

I would trust my wideband any day over the narrowband..... ive had a similar experience to yours.... narrowband was reading 780mv WOT.... put a WBO2 on it and i was at a 8:1 AFR.... after that i permanently installed a WBO2 and vowed to never listen to that NB switch again...... which is basically what it is its either on or off..... Not very good for tuning IMHO.....

i would not trust those widebands numbers as they seem to be out of the norm for a wideband reading

whose wideband are you running and have you calibrate it and or set it up the software for gasoline fuel .

reason i ask is most widebands set for gasoline wont read richer than 9s and running a wideband sensor in the 8s or richer on gasoline will lead to a very quick death of that sensor

7s or 8s running on straight alky is a different story

and why are you running 17psi with alky injection and a tt alky chip you should be rich.
with a v4 I/C you should be able to run more than 17psi with 93 and a street chip and alky injection .
if your plans are to turn the boost on alky injection add fuel first and keep adding till you see 800s then add boost until you reach the boost level you're comfortable at and can run with no knock

I'd have to agree. I can't imagine running wideband numbers that rich. There's got to be a problem with the wideband; either it's mis calibrated, badly grouned, etc.
Those numbers are just way to far out of the realm of reality.

you didnt state if the o2 was new or if it had been run on race fuel or exposed to antifreeze an o2 that has been run with race fuel will read low and wont be much use for tuning ,if you dont trust the o2 sensor for 16bucks toss in a fresh denso and start there

but if you have a tt alky it should have fuel enough for 17-19 psi no alky (but timing will be a little too high for 93 only) and 23-25psi with alky if you cant get the o2 to read 800 at 17psi you might want to try a new o2 first and if still no good look into your fuel delivery

Going to the track today, which sensor can I get to replace the wideband and I'll pick up a new one on the way. It's a PLX kit and never seen race fuel. It did fine on my car last year, put it on the GN and this where I'm at. Reason for the low boost is last time I tool this car out I didn't have the wbo2 and the narrow readings scared me. Had the o2 voltage down in the high 500's and still no knock. Let it idle and push the alky test button and it Will jump into the 800's

read the instructs with your wideband and set it up for gasoline fuel not methanol

How did you get a PLX to read so rich?? They only go to 10.0
You don't by chance have the wideband signal wire plugged into the controller's narrow band output do you?

Something is fishy with your WB. Your car would run like crap if the AFR was that low at WOT. Just to give you an idea my car backfired when I went to a low 9 AFR by accident.

I have always found the stock WB to be consistent for me. I always compare my WB and NB to make sure both are working correctly. If the stock O2 reads 780-800 ish the WB should be mid 11s give or take. At least that is how it is on both og my cars.

Just checked eveything including analog output voltage according to the instructions and all is correct. Pulled the sensor out and it's very black. The car won't leave only 60's 1.90's and b4 you say it's the stock converter this car has always 60'd low 1.70's.....put in a new afs20.....this has me confused

Where exactly are you reading the 8.36 A/F reading? If its on Powerlogger, then you have it set up wrong.

Yes, it's on power logger. What should I check to make sure it's hooked up correctly? I had it on my T and put the whole setup off it on the GN. It worked correctly on the T....even same down pipe and o2

Just need to set the wideband type to PLX in the software. Make sure you are connected and monitoring when you do it.

Eric's correct. Make sure you are connected, and go to the F3 (config) page and select the PLX wideband for input 1

Thanks guys, it was set for lc1 in PL....no time to road test but it moved 2 points up@ idler

Ok guys, that fixed "most" of my problem lol. Here is a log file (changed my setting to PLX) and the AFR is 10.5 but the stock o2 is 690's. I replaced the stock o2 with a new delco afs-20.

Check out the file and let me know what you think. This is just a highway blast in 3rd gear.

Much better. I was going to ask, why so rich, but I see you're running alky.

Should I still be shooting for 10.8 on the WB? If you notice the narrow band o2's are in the high 600's...the chip is for 22-24psi and I'm only@ 19-20psi

As you go up in boost (a little at a time) you'll lean out some and get closer to your 10.8 target. Don't worry too much about the narrowband.

Apparently I've had the settings in PL wrong the whole time I've had the wbo2....went back and looked @ some logs from my other car and the narrow was 770 but afr was 11.65....had no knock, sohow do you know when to quit?
