I'm looking to install the powerlogger and a wideband system and have some questions.

1. can the hole for the bung be drilled w/o removal of the dp?
2. where is the best location on the dp to mount the O2 sensor?
3. is it truly as easy as i'm reading to use and tune with a wb?
4. how difficult is the installation of the wb and powerlogger systems?

as reference for the last question, I have performed all the modifications in my sig.

Lastly, which system do you recommend? i'm leaning toward the PLX.

I'd really appreciate the advice.

I can't help you with the PLX, however I am running the LC-1 along with the Gen2 and Extreme G chip.

To answer your questions:
1. yes
2. mounted mine at the lower end of the the downpipe, prior to the test pipe
3. yes it can be, but as with any tuning, make sure you have the proper
settings and enough fuel, don't get greedy with the tune
4. WB is simple, and the Power Logger should be similar to installing Direct
Scan

Tuning with the WB tracking through the Gen2 is as easy as setting the desired AFR for when the three required parameters are attained (RPM, TPS, and Engine Load). When the programmed settings of these are attained simultaneously, the Gen2 will begin tracking the programmed AFR as long as the tune is close to the desired AFR. This is when you need to be patient and work up on the desired Boost, Timing, and AFR, to achieve the results you are seeking.

The Gen2 manual has a section on WB tracking, you may want to take a look at it.

1. it will be much easier to remove the dp to have the bung welded on...

2. 10 oclock or 2 oclock position just so it don't get water puddled up on it. i have mine mounted by the ac drier under the hood but the test pipe under the car is probably better or the lower downpipe area.

3. i will not touch a turbo car without one..my first pass on my car was a 10.7 with a new combo...without the WB it probably would have took many passes.

4. the WB is very easy...hot wire and a ground...i am not familiar with the powerlogger.

i am happy with my plx-300 with the ME-R with wideband input..i tell it what fuel ratio i want and it takes fuel out and puts fuel in to find it on the fly. i just watch the old knock gauge....hth.....Bob

Here's where my PLX is mounted:

The O2 pigtail is only about 18" long, but you'll see in the pic that the pigtail and connector are tucked up above the cat. heat shield, and then the rest of the harness goes up into the engine bay and subsequently into the driver's compartment.

PLX - Powerlogger

..user here and as mentioned above, I wont attempt another TR project without one. Combine it with Eric's Speed Density chip, set the 'target' A/F ratio and your good to go.

Gen II, G chip, LC-1 mounted a noon 8 inches past the bend at the turbo. I also welded a bung and moved my 02 to the down pipe, which is 2 inches further down at 9:00. Never had a problem with a sensor from heat or the 110 octane fuel. Wideband is cool. Set the AFR and let the electronics deal with fuel. Install was easy. I will add Razor's Alky soon and quit running 110.

PS - take the DP out to weld the 02. Put 2 bungs in and just cap one for future use.

you guy's are great, I really appreciate the advise.

I'm calling Mike @ FT tomorrow or the PL.
