Widest tire size before frame notch

Did a search but came up with mixed reviews on this, planning on a 18x11 with a 305 or maybe a 315 tire on some Simmons wheels, also probably lowered 1.5 in the rear, so what is the size tire before a frame notch is a must. Thanks

I have a 285/40/18
In my opinion i cant go any wider on backspace i have.
I have rolled outer lip and not any rub whatsoever

Thanks, I was hoping a 305 would fit with a 5in back space, main reason is I want to run GNX flares but want to almost fill the wheel well opening up as much as possible.

I have run 295/50-15 Hoosier quick times (26.6 x 11.61") on an 8" wheel in the past, no fender roll or frame notch at stock ride height. Wheels came with a different car, so I didn't know what the backspace was.
It seems with GNX flares and the factory fender wells cut out 305's would fit and 315's very likely.
Too bad we can't zoom those photos and see what the tire size is.

The pic you have of my car is back when it had 295/35/18's. Now has 315/30/18's. 1" frame notch with rolled lips for both sizes. Rims are Simmons. Rears are 10.5" wide with 5.75" backspace. 285 is probably the max without the notch.

I've said it before and will again. Your wheel and tire combo is one of the best!

I have 28x12.50's, no notch, but has bags. Not sure of bs as the wheels came on the car. They stick out too much imo.
