Going to pick up my 86 T tomorrow:D . The guy I am buying it from just replaced the turbo because the original one was blowing oil, bad. So bad that it fouled the plugs. My question is will it hurt it to drive it home 10-15 miles? I would change the plugs but he has it at a storage unit and it has to be moved by saturday. And I do not have the time to change them until then(work nights sleep most of the day). I also do not have a means to tow it home. Thanks for the help guys.;)

i think it would be fine to drive it like that but i would try to stay of the boost

To be safe how would I keep it from boosting? Unhook the wastegate? Thanks.

Easiest way is to keep your foot light on the gas pedal.
Make like there is a mean cop on your rear bumper just waiting to bust you.
You get the ideal..

Why not get some plugs, pre-gap them, and put them in before you go home?! You are going to do it anyway, right?!

Dude just drive the car like your grandmother would drive it and you'll be fine.

Hell, I'll take the #6 plug over the #5 any day. Getting the #5 plug started into the hole is more of a b*tch than the 6 in my opinion!!

Micheal, yep was gonna change plugs and clean intercooler and run some engine cleaner through it when I got it home. I work nights and get up around 2 and have to be at work by 5:30, if I got up and went and did that it would be pushing me for time and I hate to be in a rush:D Plus if you read the 2 posts after yours is another reason, the time it takes to change those boogers. TRBON8R and blackbuick87 I knew the plugs were going to be a pita to change, but you guys are starting to scare me! BTW how long of a job is it to change plugs? Thanks

6pack,

Didn't mean to scare you. The job really isn't that bad. It can just be "annoying". Just make sure you have the proper spark plug socket, an assortment of different length extensions, and a swivel. Shouldn't take much more than an hour even if you are careful and take your time. :)
