Reynolds Aluminum use to have a website that explained the efficiency of coatings and flat black was a lot more efficient than bare aluminum with flat black anodizing taking the "win". Going off of memory, it was a .002" thick coating. On stock intercoolers I use to strip the VERY thick paint off of them and respray a light coating of flat black. Did it make a difference you ask? .10 ET and 1mph. (Learned that from Kenne-Bell catalog.,........LOL.)
