will turbo link work on My laptop?

I was wondering if my labtop needed to have a cd-rom on it in order to work. See i just got an IBM think pad for free and it dosent have a cd-rom player on it. Can the t-link program be downloaded to a hard disk or stored on the laptop by using an external cd-rom player. Must the t-link always use the disk to run . Or should i save myself the trouble of buying and external cd-rom player ($100) and go with Direct scan. thanks for the help

Free is a quality overcoming many faults!

The program can definitely be downloaded or you can connect the laptop to a network and share a CD drive just to get the install files.

TurboLink doesn't use the CD after it is installed ... and it can be installed from a downloaded file set.
