Win XP in old laptop

I have a old IBM(300 Meg,8 Gig HD ect..) laptop I use for tuning and surfing the web. Nothing else. I need the parallel port for comm with the XFI. Will Win XP drive the parallel port?
I ask this because all new laptops ive seen have no parallel port.

XP will drive the parallel port as long as the software is written for windows. For example Direct Scan will not work under XP because it was written for dos. But if written for windows, then it can use the port just fine.
