I need to replace my windshield, so...
I'm looking to put in "older" style one w/ antenna in the glass
& get rid of power antenna (& fill & smooth quarter panel)
QUESTIONS:
  • Which years had the in-glass antenna?
  • Where exactly do I need to drill hole for antenna cable (or can I extend the cable & run it along dash-pad)?
  • Can I drill hole (if needed) after new glass installed?
  • Any other tips/suggestions?
TIA!

  1. If someone else is installing the glass, they may know.
  • Where exactly do I need to drill hole for antenna cable (or can I extend the cable & run it along dash-pad)?
  1. They make extension type cables antenna's
  • Can I drill hole (if needed) after new glass installed?
  1. Yes, but make sure your no where near the glass. The edge of glass is the most vulnerable!!

Any Gbody from 78-83 will work. From the part donor list in the junkyard dogs section.

The windshields that came with these cars is called in the auto glass Biss. Part Number DW1016 Shaded , Now the one you Need is a DW935 Shaded that's the one that has the Antenna in the bottom of it, I live in Toronto Canada If you go to any Auto glass shop and the numbers are the same up here has down there and i think they are , That's what you will need. Hope this helps, And don't for get the Urethane.
