Hello all. I removed my wipers, wiper arms, windshield washer parts, etc and rubber seal between firewall and hood. I did this because I never drive car in rain (et streets would not like that either) and I thought it might be a good way to clean that area up as I go to alot of shows. I also thought removing the long rubber seal might allow airlflow out over the windshield keeping the bay cooler???
All seems great and it looks clean however I have quite a bit of windshield rattle anyone have any tricks or suggestions? Thanks much

pop open the hood and put a little dab of grease on the top of the rubber bumper in the center of the firewall that helps support the hood when closed. Its just amazing how much noise is made when that thing dries out isn't it :D

Lived with that annoying rattle in my parent's 87 Cutlass for about 3 years until someone on the monte board told me about the hood stop - we could have sworn it was something in the dash or possibly the window. You would expect more of a squeaky sound to come from the hood stop but for some reason it makes a rattle noise...
