Anyone know of a good way to clean a the windshield washer nozzles? (this is on my 96 Pontiac Sunfire)

Both were to the point where they were clogged inside, I couldn't blow any air through it. I let them soak in hot water for a bit from the coffee maker, but only helpped a little. Is there something I could try soaking them in, like alky?

I would first try to soak them overnight in a mild solvent like vinegar in case it's mineral deposits that should help. It would be great if you could use shop air and feed a hose to it with some water/vinegar solution to force through it.

After that if it didn't work well I would consider stronger solvents such as alky. just be careful if you use an apparatus to force it through the nozzle to wear goggles.

You could check to see how it's made as well if there is any way to disassemble it or if it has any screens or filter built into it you could clean.

Salvage,
I never thought about vinegar, that is an excellent idea. I will give that a shot.

FWIW, I stopped into the local Pontiac dealer, and brought one of the nozzles in with me to show. They are $13 a piece, and I would need 4 of them. I said I would see what I could do cleaning them out first. I get out in the parking lot and put it back on... damn clip breaks while snapping it back on. I will see if I can zip-tie it on, otherwise I will be getting one new one.
If it were a nice car, I would just spring for new ones. If you knew the car, you'd understand why I am going the cheap route. :D

Hey I bolted my loose passenger side windshield wiper arm back onto the knurled part, no way I was gonna buy a new one. And that's for my Buick. :p

Maybe a pick could get down in there and dig out what's blocking them?

But if all 4 are blocked up you may have some serious debris in there and need some stronger solvent air propelled to force it out.

If you buy the new one put it on the drivers window. ;)

How about CLR. Yeah the stuff you use to clean the toilet with. If it works on faucets than it should work on the nozzles.
