Winter is coming......

Does anyone use stabelizer (? sp) in thier tanks? It's almost time to store the car for the winter and wanted to know what kind you use and how much do you use in the tank. I know its like 2.5 oz. per gal. but do you just dump the whole bottle in anyway? Any down side to using it?

I've owned the car for almost 10 years now and never used it. The only thing I do is unhook the battery and set mouse traps around the wheels. The car gets started 1 a month in the winter, can I still do that if I put stabelizer in the tank?

Read the bottle it tells how much. Fill the tank with gas then add it and drive it around to get the stabil throu the fuel system then your set for the winter. Cheap insurance I think.

That stuff really works! "Stabil" is the trade name.
Run the tank down a bit (1/4) and follow the MFG recomendations.
Just run the engine to make sure the "mix" makes it to the injectors.
Cheap insurance for the long winters up north.

Thanks for the info. Can the car still be started 1 a month with out hurting anything? I hvae a tank full of 3/4 c16 and 1/4 94 octain. Again this is my first time to use this stuff, so sorry for all the questions.

You can still start the car and run it anytime, like what was said just put the stabalizer in and take it for a ride to get it up to the injectors and your good to go it's mixed with all the fuel in the tank. The stabalizer keeps the gas from forming varnish which could cause problems, such as clogged injectors, preventive maintenance if your going to store it for a couple months.

I take mine out during the winter just to keep the juices flowing. As long as the streets are dry and clear of salt the cold air doesn't hurt it
You might get more snow than us but it must clear up some time.

People can't drive in PA. If it clears up, all the weirdos come out and cause major accidents. I was T Boned 3 years ago in Jan. and not a lick of snow anywhere. I was on my way to pick my daughter up at school when it happened. I'll let her (the car) sleep for the winter.

Granted, people can't drive in PA, and they get scared when it gets dark early. My favorite is when daylight savings ends and people get caught out in the dark by suprise because the clocks changed, and do 20 mph tapping the brakes
I find that after the Christmas traffic goes home for the season the roads are clearer. The summer is more dangerous, every moron is out and has brain freeze from the car's A/C. No one looks at what's going on outside their Camry

Poeple can't drive anywhere! Winter or summer.

But I still hate winter more!

As far as the stabil thing. It works. Ive used it in all my gas engines. I would still start the GN as much as possible.
