wiped cam

Anyone wipe a cam recently, because I was wondering what was going on with the car prior to wiping the cam and then afterward.

Sounds like a diesel motor, rocker arm is loose, loss of power, metal on the oil pick up screen.

In my case, I lost the number 3 exhaust lobe which is common from what I've learned on this site. I believe it can caused by the way some blocks were cast by G.M. and the lifter bore(s) not lining up.

As for the losing the cam in my car, it first started out as an intermintent miss - like a bad plug or wire. Then one morning on the way to work I laid into it to merge into traffic and it popped
through the intake/throttle body. I had only about 5 pounds of boost showing at the time on the gauge.

Shortly after that I started heariing lifter ticking that got progressively louder.

Something else I noticed as my cam was crapping out was that under WOT conditions the car was surging forward...kinda like it was missing out a few cylinders. Also, my audible knock detector was acting up....beeping off and on under normal driving.
