wireing from alternater

THanks for taking time to read this my new alternater has been tested twice from two different parts place . I have power going in and out of alternater One brown wire comming out going to where??? Its all in the wireing harness the battery is not getting charge from alternater battery is new car runs for 45 minutes then it dyes because battery is not getting charged first time question long time member thanks viper out

The brown wire goes directly to the volts light in the dash. The bulb could be burned out or not seated right...or the bulb holder may not be making good contact with the instrument panel contacts (common problem).

Either way, you must have that light operational in order for the batt to charge. Turn the key on (but don't start), the volt light should come on. If not check for the items mentioned above.
 
Guys thanks for all your help really mean that saves me hours so I know the brown goes to volt light can be bulb or somthing can I fix do I have to remove dash board to get to this.
