Won't shift

I just finished putting in my new ptc converter and it won't shift while sitting still . I was making sure all gears are going in , rev, neutral , drive, OD, 1,2 . I see the linkage at the side of tranny move but it won't shift the gear , does anyone have a picture to make sure I put everything back correctly . Or may be not enough tranny fluid . I used 5 qts , but my tranny lines had broken so I made some new ones and some tranny fluid had spilled so I might not have all the fluid I put in. Please help

car on level ground and trns warm, what does the dip-stick show? If you have a trans oil cooler it will take up some of the oil, so the chance is the level is low. Is the TV cable properly adjusted?

Some one told me to lift up rear tires and start car . Put in drive and all other gears and that should fix it . But I did add more tranny
Fluid but the problem was fixed , but on my old converter the car would shift harder ?? I did reset the tv cable by pushing on the tab then pressing throttle All the way down . But it still shifts soft . Maybe the converter makes it do that?? By the way how many quarts of fluid go in the tranny , I read 5 or even 7 or 8 .

your detent cable wrong .try pushing in tab then push the cable end all the way towards the fire wall. Let go of the brass tab then depress the pedal all the way to the floor .you will hear the cable click back to correct .

Thats typical. I hated the way the ptc converter felt on the street. The gears blend together. I couldn't stand it. Went back to a Art Carr.
