worst-made-cars-on-the-road: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance

More spin from the USA haters in the media. My favorite quote: "Unfortunately just because GM's cars are selling well now doesn't mean they're the best bet for durability or value."

In other words, don't let sales and what you see people driving down the road deceive you; put your trust in a 25 year-old staff writer with a column to fill up. And never think that JDP or CR employees would ever take a payoff. They are about as believable as a Penn State global warming scientist.

I don't know, I think they are pretty accurate. My f250 is a friggin fuel hog. I don't know how anyone can afford to drive one. They are spot on with the other issues too.

The other vehicles I can't really say but I'm sure if they were good cars they would be singing a different song.

American cars these days are throw aways. If you ever worked one, you know.

Junk, junk and more junk.

I don't know about the other cars, but I work at a GMC/Buick dealer. I would not buy any GM product after 2006 model year. Most of the parts are made in china now. You might be ok if you are leasing. May the best car win. LOL!!!

Everything is is a throw away unless its a top of the line sports car. Ive worked on a lot of different cars. Some are a bastard and some are easy. Imo VW has the worst vehicles out there as far as the problems per vehicle/ repair accessibility. Simple procedures like timing cover removal are often hampered by the engineering built into the vehicle. This makes for really expensive repair bills.

If you venture over to the new car sales department you can read the info stickers on any new cars and it gives the exact % each cars parts origin by country per vehicle. You will see that most of the parts are of US origin on most US brand cars. I do feel that anything with a certain % of non US made components should be charged an import tax. Just like all the other countries do when importing big $ machines. Keep in mind that any product you buy that is made elsewhere, the profits go to those countries and dont stay in the US regardless if the item was assembled here.

Same can be said for body repairs on VW's.... what a nightmare they are.

Did you read it thier study is based off of consumer reports the biggest yuppie magazine ever created!!!! Trust me these are not car people and have no common sense or any buisness rating anything that has to do with cars!!!!! Omg my cupholders this and my heated seats that.. It squeaks a lil bit.. wahhh wahhh wahhh!!!!!! Its a pickup 2500 no less yes it squeaks wtf!!! They need to ask real questions like will it haul my race car trailer ? If i crash will my family be protected? How far past the warranty will the drivetrain last? If it does break can i fix it at home in my driveway? How mainstream is it so if a have a lil fender bender or have a mechanical issue and choose to fix it myself are parts reasonably priced and readily available?(Consumer Reports dosent care cause yuppies lease and dont own vehicles that are"old" that have more than say 50,000 miles!!! ) They can bash gm all they want i got 368,000 reasons (miles on my 07 chebby van) to keep buying GM and american period....You just gotta know what to buy thats all.....

That's why the newest car I have is over a decade old...the '99...
I may be in the market later this year to buy me a brand new 2005 or '06 model something :) or a brand new '97 something :D
Hell I had a newer car in highschool than what I drive now relative to the time :D

Im also a GM Tech. I agree with turnchaser. About 2007 and up GM products are junk, absolute garbage. very few exceptions. You really have to work on these everyday in a dealer setting to understand. Bison is right too, VW is probably the worst.
