I understand your addiction. I would have the same addiction if I had more space. We could always trade cars and save space for both of us;)

Hi Rob,

Your best bet to get an idea of the price of the value of your car would probably be to seek the opinion of a few members here. I haven't been looking that actively since last Fall, and I know prices unfortunately have dropped since then. I have seen some of the nicer cars around in the past year, and have offered money to buy some of them. If you send me pictures, I will tell you what I think its worth FWIW. Be sure to send me the RPO sticker...that's usually what determines the price. ;)

As the owner of a 75k Limited and the ex-owner of a very rare Limited leather car.......it was truly the last of any original low mile Limited's for sale... these cars are incredibly hard to find... after putting my Limited up for sale for a few months on here....with no luck...it got sold for a lot more money then it was advertised on here for ...from another ad source......I think because of the amount of cars left .. mainly the Limited's .........it will end up to the point that if you want the right car... you may have to pay a lot more then one would be worth to pry it from the owners hands or hope the economy pushes someone into putting one up for sale you like...... either way ... my bet is that with an estimated count of less then 80 cars left in total........you may be waiting forever....

Mark, Mark, Mark. Come on buddy. There are far more than 80 Limiteds left in total. There are almost certainly more than 80 Limiteds owned by TB.com members alone. Now if you had said there are only 80 Limiteds left that fit my criteria, then I would have said you are being generous. Having said that, I am in no rush. The money is sitting in a US Fund account waiting for something to tickle my fancy. And as far as prying it out of someone's hands, I can only shrug my shoulders. We're talking about cars that are maybe $20K tops. I know people will say I would never part with mine for less than $XX,000 or whatever. Talk is cheap. The fact is I am not sure that one has sold for more than $20,000 in recent memory. So if an absolutely to die for Limited came up for sale and I had to throw $25K or $30K at it what's another 5 or 10K? I can go buy a Z06 and lose that the second I drive it off the lot. We're not talking about trying to pry an Audi R8 out of someones hands here...it's a 20 year old Buick.

What I am hoping will happen is that when someone with a car fitting my criteria makes the decision to sell, they will remember this thread, realize I am not a tire kicker, and come to me first. If they do and its a car I want it'll be in my garage. It worked with the 900 mile cloth/hardtop TTA. If you think a Limited is a pipedream lets talk about acquiring a 1 of 15 car.

lol .....Albertan

Dean my northern pal..........Well said

But I will disagree with the Limited population at more then 80 cars.....I have done an extensive (why I can't say ... I was high and felt that the knowledge would help others......lol)...... and came up with that many left including the heavily modified and retrofitted GN interior ones.....

I know you have the funds and in time you may get what you are looking for... either way I see you as a avid car fan as I am and you will wait....you can only drive one car at a time...

As for the z06... lol....SOOO TRUE ......but one hell of a bargain now!!!... I have a dealer's license and see 06's coming down to high $40's now with good miles and condition... praise those who blew the $80k on one to have one of the first....actually a sadder story would be the people who threw $180-$200k on the 2005-2006 Mercedes CL65 or S65
these cars are selling SLOWLY at less then $70k now... really sucks since the car is beyond Incredible and has under the hood the most powerful ENGINE ever put in a passenger car in the history of automobiles.... next runner up would be a Veryon.... the 65'S have 612 HP and 738lbs. of torque .....governered!...and the kicker... the TORQUE comes in at 1800 RPM......

oh the R8? lol.... seen a few up close and personal... AUDI is kicking ass recently... and the S5 is another success story for them... but for the money less the overall performance it offers I would take the Gallardo or ZR1 at $40k less..........it is truly unique though just not breath taking.....gotta have the carbon fiber sides

Now talking cars... I am truly WAITING for the CTS-V to hit... with 550hp and the new style.. destined to be less then $70k.....damn this is gonna be a Monster and a car to own...

well my car friend..... good luck with the Limited hunting and feel free to send some reviews this way

I have a deposit on an R8. I was #19 on the list at the dealership last Fall and they anticipate a two year wait. Fine by me. The V10 should be in it by then. If not I'll get my deposit back and buy something else. Heck, two years from now I'll probably be looking at low mileage ZR1's for $60,000. Too bad your President can only be in office for two terms. I love George. Buying U.S. cars is like a two for one sale right now compared to a couple of years ago. ;)

Hello Dean
Sent you some pics in the fall. What do you think my car is worth.Am going to sell in the spring
Jim

I've got a couple of prospects on the go, but back up to the top anyways. :D

Sent ya a couple of PMs

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I've been swamped at work and working on this Limited registry. I'll try to respond in the next day or two. Bump for me in the meantime. :)

Limited

Just to let you know I have had mine 87 limited for a very short period of time and this one is a very low miliage 29,600 miles, tan leather and very nice metallic rose color. The color combo is very eye catching. I did not know much about the limited and consider myself very luck to end up with this very well kept car. When I brought it home, I worked on the car for a month and a half changing original rope seal, waterpump, and valve cover gaskets now it is ready for the street. This is an all original stock car and it is going to stay that way. Very Happy, now a California Car. Turbo 85

Sounds like a very nice car. Would you mind posting some pics of it? I have a rosewood Limited with gray leather and would really like to see your color combo.

Thanks
John

Is this Mark's (Slowcar's) old car? If so, its already in the registry but you can send me the new owners info. If not, you can still send me your infor along with pics including the RPO sticker and I'll add it. Congrats either way.

Hey John,

I need some pics of your car as well. I could use a pic of the RPO sticker although I have all the options listed for it already. Also, pics of the exterior interior and one of the engine bay would be appreciated. Thanks bud.

Yes this is marks old car. I picked up this car from him in December 07 and have done alot of work to it since. Since it had only 29,415 miles when I picked it up there was alot of dry seals. Starting with the rear main, valve cover gaskets, replaced the oil pump gears and head, water pump, and did the upgrade on the powersteering reservior. This is a beautiful car and I will keep it stock, and original. I do have to replace the head liner, and having trouble locating original material. Well I will replace as close as I can, but neverless it has to be done.
New owner information is:
Lynno Delivery Date: 26 Dec 07

Location Livermore, Calif
Miliage: 29,700
If you need anything else let me know
Also please give me the info on how to find the registry, so that I can see the information. I do appreciate all that you have done. Lynno

Alright the Registry is up. You can learn about it here. I figured I earned a free bump. :p

Hi Dean, I'm one of those guys that has a "garage queen" limited. I've owned it since 1996, I've never seen a double of my car until I saw a pic of Phil Henry's limited. Mine has designers series paint, charcoal gray, over silver. It is a chrome trim car, with the wide chrome on the bottom. Grey leather interier, t tops, posi, additional undercoating from factory when new. It has appr 102,000 miles, and I only drive it 2-4 times a year, which is sad. Its always been adult owned and not abused. Its basically stock car with some tastefull upgrades. I've been more into handling than the performance. It has 13" Baer brakes with the b body spindles, which is probably the best upgrade. global west tubular upper a arms, eibach springs, and bilstien shocks. It also has a 34mm hollow front swaybar. I also have an AVC GNX style dash which is very nice. I plan on leaving these items on the car. There is more items too much to describe now. Anyway if your interested please send me an email at turbotklg@aol.com my name is Ken, Im located in the San Francisco bay area.

thanks
