And some of you guys have terrible luck with dying 360s. I work for GameStop (not a store) and the RRoD (red ring of death) isn't THAT big of an issue as it used to be. Don't buy into the paranoia. Most 360s on the shelves have no issues whatsoever.
I agree. There's no doubt the early 360s were garbage, Microsoft rushed to get their console to the market first, and they sacrificed quality because of it. But the newer versions are more reliable and backed up by a great warranty. Don't be fooled by all the bad XBOX press, PS3 has problems too; Blu-Ray lasers burning out, discs won't read, consoles won't boot, etc.
Like I said earlier it's hard to blame these companies, the consumer is expecting an ultra-powerful gaming machine crammed inside a compact box and doesn't want to be distracted by the sound of exhaust fans. It's performance -vs- heat -vs- noise level and something has to give somewhere. These things should honestly be the size of a regular PC tower but everyone wants something that fits in their entertainment center.
