XFI Error Code 2 = 8

Working on a friends car with xfi we are getting code 8 in the #2 box. Code definition says n/a. Any insight?

All the boxes are checked except the very last one.

Your looking at fault detection. Unless your running a flex fuel sensor, they shouldn't all be checked. Either way, your fault code is:
Injector duty cycle 100%

That has happened to me a few times

Somehow it seems that fast likes a 3-5 sec key on before cranking...I just let the fuel pump prime(5 sec) then when it shuts off I crank to start...

I noticed that too. It does not like to go right to start mode.

If you turn the ignition off and then immediately back on before the xfi glows down, the computer sees a crank signal when the ignition switch comes back on. This in turn sets the injector duty cycle code.
It doesn't hurt anything, and can be avoided by waiting a couple seconds before powering back up.
