I went to buy some the other day. My problem, is there are so may different types? Am I looking for straight Xylene or are there other chemicals with the Xylene?? I don;t want to buy the wrong stuff! Please help clear this up for me. I'm in Chicago and the cheapest stuff I found was $8.00 a gallon. even my local Sherwin Williams didn't carry it.

Sherman Williams generally carries Toulene for about $34 for a 5 gallon can. It's a paint thinner. Try to get the 'painters discount' since you are buying 5 gallons. That will save you a few dollars.

Xylene has more octane. I think it is about 117 vs about 110 for toluene. Someone can give you more accurate numbers if I am off that much.

Toluene is 114 I believe and also seems to be alittle less harsh on your fuel lines and such. Ive been reading up on it tonight :)
