Last night I was at my local machine shop making small talk when my machinist said that he had a Buick v-6 that came out of a 81 Regal. It was behind his shop under a tarp complete with accessories and trans.

Basically I bought it for the accessories but discovered this morning that it's a 109(y) .

weren't all rwd Buick V6 blocks in the mid to late 80's a 109 block?
There were several diffrent casting numbers used. 84 engine has 14 bolt pan not sure the cast # but it's definately not 109. Early 85 also 14 bolt pan probably same casting as the 84. Mid 85 cars use a 20 bolt pan and have 140 casting # .you can tell a mid to late year 85 by power master vs hydro boost and early 85 cars don't have the 3rd brake light. 86 and 87 V6 buick engine cars were 109 cars and the 89 tta was also a 109

No clue on what the 81 82 83 cars had
